On March 27th, the graduation ceremony for 2013 MBBS international students was held in the auditorium of School of Medicine. Among the batch of 2013, 65 students have eventually cleared all of the required courses and successfully completed their five-and-half year undergraduate study at Zhejiang University School of Medicine. This grand ceremony was attended by the leaders from the university as well as the school. Moreover, staffs from College of International Education, Office of International Students Education ZUSM, family members and friends of the students all together witnessed this exciting moment.
Prof. Lianzhen He who is the vice president of Zhejiang University delivered the opening speech. She praised the students’ hard work of their course study and devotion to their faith of being medical practitioners during their study at Zhejiang University. In addition, she pointed out that the graduation only means that the students have completed a phase in their whole life, and “there is still a long way to become a real doctor.” She encouraged the students to continue their further studies back to Zhejiang University. She also expressed her sincere hope that the students will keep a lifelong relationship with their Alma Mater.
Elaine Tan Su Yin a Malaysian girl and Ahmed Mustafa Sayed Saeed Alawi Alnajjar who is from Bahrain, on behalf of the students, shared their studying and living experience during their study time at Zhejiang University School of Medicine. They have realized that the road ahead of them will not be smooth all the time, and it might be full of obstacles and difficulties. Nevertheless, they will never give up easily and make their best efforts to save people’s lives.
As the most thrilling part of the event, delivering degree came with the fast-speed and happy music. The president set right fringe for each graduate and took photos with them.
In the end, the ceremony was wrapped up with taking group photos under the cherry trees in full blossom.
