Translational Medical Bachelor Degree Program is under Negotiation between ZUSM and U of T

From February 18th to February 23rd, Professor Ke Yuehai, Associate Dean of Scientific Research and International Affairs, Zhejiang University School of Medicine was invited to participate in the Translational Research International Partnership Summit hosted by University of Toronto, Canada. During this visit, Prof. Ke Yuehai introduced the recent development and blueprint of ZUSM regarding the construction and management of discipline, scientific research in translational medicine research institutes and medical centers. Meanwhile, teaching model designing, talent cultivation, faculty and curriculum system construction of University of Toronto’s translational medical program have been under comprehensively discussed and investigated. It is well know that the University of Toronto Medical School is the  first medical school worldwide to start on the postgraduate degree program in translational medicine, in pursuing for promoting discipline integration, patient-centered medical transformation system research and talent training, , aiming at cultivating multidisciplinary talents with global vision in the background of precision medical science nowadays.. During the conference, Zhejiang University School of Medicine and the University of Toronto, Tufts University, and Hebrew University of Israel will establish a translational medical bachelor degree program jointly, and reached a broad consensus on faculty training, student exchanges, and original course construction.

Additionally, Professor Ke Yuehai had a meeting with Christopher M Yip, Vice President of International Affairs of the University of Toronto, and Lynn Wilson, Associate Dean of the School of Medicine, to exchanged views on mutual strategic partnerships and the establishment of the Joint Institute, consensus on the future plan of the further cooperation.
