On Feburary 29, Professor Minghao Zheng, the Vice Dean of International from the University of Western Australia University, visited Zhejiang University School of Medicine. Xiangming Fang, the Associate Dean of Medical Education, Xiaoming Li, the Associate Dean of International Affairs and Graduate Study, Qingqing Wang, the Associated Dean from School of Biomedical Science and Shankuan Zhu, the Associate Dean of School of Public Health played host. In November, 2015, a delegation of Zhejiang University School of Medicine (ZUSM) visited the Western Australia University, and the two schools reached a preliminary intent on the Joint 5-year Clinical Medicine Education Program.
The two institutes agreed to initiate the Joint Education Program and admit 20-30 students for the first batch. The students will get Bachelor degree from both Zhejiang University (Clinical Medicine) and the University of Western Australia (Biomedical Science) in 5 years. In the clinical rotation period, the students will also have 4 to 8 weeks electives experience in UWA. The ZUSM will appoint administrative staff to assist student affairs in UWA.
A delegation of ZUSM will visit UWA again in March to discuss the details of curriculum and the mutual recognition of credits.
