A Delegation from the University of Melbourne Visited Zhejiang University School of Medicine

On October 22nd, Prof. Doris Young, the associate dean of the University of Melbourne School of Medicine visited Zhejiang University School of Medicine. Prof. Young, who is presently in charge of Chinese affairs in the department, was accompanied by Zhengfang Chen, the vice director of Department of International Cooperation from Zhejiang Health and Family Planning Commission. Xiaoming Li, the associate dean of International Affairs and Graduate Study played host to the delegation.
Doris Young and Xiaoming Li respectively gave a brief introduction of the basic information of the two schools. They also had a deeper discussion regarding the area of student residency exchanging program, summer courses, jointly-cultivated Ph.D. program as well as public health. Zhejiang University School of Medicine is initiating a plan to have a visit to the University of Melbourne in this coming November to hopefully promote the cooperation between these two schools.
The University of Melbourne was founded in 1853, and it is one of the world ranking research universities. Being a core member of Group of Eight, The University of Melbourne is also a member of Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APPU). Since the foundation of the University of Melbourne, there have been six Nobel Prize Winners from this university.
