Dr. Ren Sun is the Professor for Molecular & Medical Pharmacology and Senior Associate Dean of Graduate Studies, David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. His current research focus is developing and utilizing systems biology approaches to characterize the fitness of different viral pathogens in terms of replication kinetics, immune evasion, drug resistance, host-viral interactions, and certain metabolic and signaling pathways at a genomic scale. Kaposi sarcoma-associate herpesvirus (KSHV), Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), murine herpesvirus-68 (MHV-68), influenza virus, Hepatitis C virus (HCV) and human immune-deficient virus (HIV) are included. Dr. Ren Sun is the PIs for several ongoing NIH grants and has numerously publications in Cell host & microbe, J Viral, J Immunol, PNAS, PLoS pathogens etc.
