To enhance academic exchanges and deepen collaboration, on April 27th, the International School of Medicine (ISM), Zhejiang University (ZJU) and the Faculty of Medicine, Hebrew University of Jerusalem (HUJI), held a symposium on motor circuits. The meeting was presided over by Dr LI Xiangyao. Nearly 100 participants including principal investigators, clinicians and students from both sides attended the meeting online and on-site.

Three months ago, Sino-Israel Academic Symposium was held. Since then, bilateral communications have been strengthened. At this joint symposium, two experts in the related fields shared their works. Firstly, Prof. Avihu Klar from HUJI shared his research works on wiring the spinal cord - the evolution and function of the spinal neuronal circuit. In the following section, Prof. BAI Ge from Zhejiang University talked about molecular insights into motor circuit assembly and diseases. The joint symposium provides an opportunity for complementary advantages, enforcing international cooperation between two parties, aiming to cultivate high-level scientific research talents with a global vision. Prof. Dina Ben Yehuda, Dean of the faculty of medicine, HUJI and Prof. Joel Yisraeli, the chairman of department of developmental biology and cancer research institute for medical research, HUJI, joined the meeting online. “It was a very nice beginning for the lecture series. The talks were very good and the discussion was interesting.” Prof. Joel said.

The Lead Lecture Series launched early this year, is committed to providing our students and faculty with a diversified platform to have access to cutting-edge medical knowledge, clinical skills and scientific researches.  The lectures will be held between ISM and its international partners bimonthly.
