The Delegation from JAX Lab Visited Zhejiang University School of Medicine

On May 16th, a delegation from The Jackson Laboratory (JAX LAB), consisting of Prof. Charles Lee, Director of the JAX LAB for Genomic Medicine, Dr. Kenneth Fasman, Vice President for Research, Dr. Auro Nair, President of Mice & Clinical and Research Services, Ms.Yu-Hui Rogers, Senior Director, Research Strategy (Asia), and Xuefeng Zhang, China Regional Liaison, visited Zhejiang University School of Medicine.

Prof. Xu Zhengping, Executive Director, Medical Center & Associate Dean, School of Medicine, Prof. Ke Yuehai, Associate Dean for Research, Prof. Xu Xiao, Associate Dean for Medical Education and International Affairs, Prof. Wang Qingqing, Director of School of Basic Science, Prof. Wang Lie, Director of ZJU Laboratory Animal Center, Prof. Liu Chong and Prof. Wang Hao, played a host. A conversation in between was conducted, regarding the issues of precision medicine, clinical trial, Biomedicine Big Data as well as translational medicine, with further cooperation was explored. With the introduction of personalized PDX model concentrating on cancer therapy and clinical applications, and overview of Medical Center was led by School of Medicine, sparkles and common challenges faced by both sides were put forwards.

Additionally, an inspiring lecture targeting in Embracing Complexity in Personalized Medicine was delivered by Prof. Charles Lee, and a visit to Medical Center and Laboratory of Animal Center was taken afterwards.

The Jackson Laboratory, founded in 1929, is an independent, nonprofit biomedical research institution dedicated to contributing to a future of better health care based on the unique genetic makeup of each individual. Also, it is a National Cancer Institute-designated Cancer Center and has NIH centers of excellence in aging and systems genetics.
