The Opening Ceremony for 2013 Batch MBBS Oversea Student was held in School of Medicine in September 10, 2013. Prof. Zhou, Tianhua, associate Dean of School of Medicine and Prof. Wang, Li, Dean of International College gave opening address and welcome speech to the audience including school staffs and more than 80 new oversea students with their family members. Prof. Yu Hai gave a brief introduction of school’s history and general information. Prof. Bao Aimin, as a teacher’s representative put forward her wishes and demands to the new students. Miss. Joan Lim Ai Hui and Mr. Sheikh, Irfan Sahail representing all senior students gave their speech on the experiences as a medical student in Zhejiang University. Afterwards, all new students raised their right hands and read the medical student oath lead by prof. Yu Hai. The students who is awarded as ‘Outstanding Student for 2012-2013 Academic Year’ received award before the end of ceremony.

In the afternoon orientation section, Mr. Cai, Zusen from International College gave a talk on university regulations and campus life. Police officer Mr. Long from city police department was invited to give an introduction on the laws and regulation related to entry and exit for oversea students.  Dr. Zhang, Jie and Ms. Yang, Xiaolei from School of Medicine briefly introduced university environment, facilities, services, policies and regulations, the information about the curriculum and other important issues to help the students to settle down and start a new life in Zhejiang University quickly.

Since 2006, School of Medicine has recruited eight batches, total 700 oversea students. The first two batches with over 140 students were already graduated.
